The artifacts guiding Decolonial Flânerie 2023 are inspired by protest signs and are part of the Amo Collective's ongoing exploration of artistic methods in social science contexts. These signs depict and recall the urban anti-racist activism of decades past and bring it into the present, just as the political desire for change continues. Some of the signs represent key moments in the struggle to rename M Street and the activist organizing that has accompanied it in recent decades. One of the signs commemorates the Haitian Revolution, as a historical sign of resistance and social change, including in Berlin, such as through the annual Amo street party that took place on August 21/22 (the key date). The other signs present the central themes and statements of the stops on the city tour and give it a common thread.
Die Artefakte, die den diesjährigen Dekolonialen Flânerie begleiten, sind von Protestschildern inspiriert und Teil der fortlaufenden Erforschung künstlerischer Methoden in sozialwissenschaftlichen Kontexten durch das Amo Collective. Diese Schilder zeigen und erinnern an den urbanen anti-rassistischen Aktivismus der vergangenen Jahrzehnte und bringen ihn in die Gegenwart, so wie der politische Wunsch nach Veränderung anhält. Einige der Schilder stellen wichtige Momente des Kampfes um die Umbenennung der M-Straße und die damit verbundene aktivistische Organisation der letzten Jahrzehnte dar. Eines der Schilder erinnert an die haitianische Revolution, als historisches Zeichen des Widerstands und des sozialen Wandels, auch in Berlin, wie z.B. durch das jährliche Amo-Straßenfest, das am 21./22. August (dem Schlüsseldatum) stattfand. Die anderen Schilder präsentieren die zentralen Thematiken und Aussagen der Stops des Stadtrundgangs und geben ihm einen roten Faden.
